This Matcha Mojito recipe offers a perfect, elegant summer cocktail pairing of vibrant matcha and refreshing mint. Simple to make, even simpler to savor. The matcha simple syrup yields enough for approximately two drinks.

  1. To make the matcha simple syrup:

  2. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil, whisking until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove the saucepan from heat. In a small bowl, spoon the matcha and add a little of the hot simple syrup to create a paste, whisking vigorously until entirely smooth. Pour in the remaining simple syrup and whisk again until smooth. Transfer the matcha simple syrup to an airtight container and refrigerate until cool and ready for use.
  3. To make the matcha mojito:

  4. Gently tear mint leaves and place them at the bottom of a tall glass. Muddle the mint leaves using a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their aromatic oils. Add the white rum, vodka, and your prepared matcha simple syrup to the glass, then stir well to combine all ingredients. Fill the glass with a couple of handfuls of ice, up to about two-thirds full. Finally, top off with club soda.
Garnish with fresh mint leaves and/or creative green tea bag tags for an added touch.
